I purchased this phone for a home business. I called AT&T and getting the phone repaired or replaced would have been such a hassle that I never went through with it. Callers cannot hear me when I am on speakerphone (although I can hear them fine). The backlighting of the display (where you see caller ID, etc) stopped working early on in the life of the product, and the display itself is muddied and impossible to read without that backlighting. They put up a lot of barriers to getting it replaced--the biggest being I would have to send it in on my own dime and that I would have to be without the phone as they had to get the old one back before sending out a new one. That's not how it should work.
I thought long and hard shopping for a two line phone. When I have to change the names for whateverreason, I have a fresh sheet for the one touch directory. THe reviews spoke of poor speaker sound, but that has not been my experience.
Am VERY PLEASED with phone, largecomfortable buttons is the first thing you'll notice. One touch callingis very easy. I did my homework, readthe reviews and finally decided on this ATT.
I use a headset in addition to speaker phone. The display is large with 2 lines showing both line id's. The two lines light, and both lines have caller id pop up , providing you have this feature on yourphone. Even when you are already on a call, line 2 will ring with phone number.I like the conference, hold and flash buttoms, all easy in addition tothe speaker button which is large.
Before writing on the id sheet I make a few copies, punch outthe holes, and save under phone. A lot of bang for the money.
Received not new in box but repackaged not once but twice. Equipment is not new from this vendor.
This is incorrect because all ten digits that you dialed show up in the Caller ID screen. I must constantly redial numbers because this phone does NOT record a ten-digit number if it is dialed other than slowly. You must wait for about 15 seconds to have a recorded message tell you -- incorrectly -- that you did not dial the required 10 digits. AT&T said they will replace the phone for $15, but it would be with another Model 993. I believe the problem is in the design and engineering of the phone and that a new unit will not correct my problem.
Pros:1.Phone is Fast, Dials Fast, Responds Fast to commands/buttons (much faster than battery operated phones). It can be turned off but then you can't see the LCD. The AT&T 993 phone is a good deal for the price range it's in. 4.Call timer is displayed on the LCD. Buyer Recommended. 2.One touch Speed dials are easy to program. Cons: 1.LCD screens stays lit at all times, even when not on a call - this is a waste of energy.
3.No Call History log. There are alot of reviews for this phone so let me get right to the meat of it. 2.Speakerphone/Mic quality is good but not excellent. 3.Lighted Speaker/Mute buttons are great. Displays how long you've been on the call. My boss asked me what time i called the Director, I went back to my phone but there is no call log showing the date/time that calls are made. Yes.
